Cottonwood Campground

Cottonwood Campground

Pincher Creek, Alberta

Accommodations|Campgrounds & RV Parks

Breezy waters at the nearby Oldman River reservoir make the Cottonwood Campground the ideal home base for boaters, sailors, kitesurfers and windsurfers. Relax after a day on the water at the peaceful campground under the shade of cottonwood trees. There’s a boat launch and plenty of shoreline to explore right here on the Oldman River. You’ll find a park in the middle of the park for playful family fishing.

The campground, set in a diverse and dramatic landscape on the edge of the Canadian Rockies, provides water and is suitable for RVs and tents. Thirty of the 82 sites have power, and all have fire pits and picnic tables. There are toilets and sewage disposal available.

The river basin is the traditional territory of the Piikani Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy and situated 13 km (8 mi) north of Pincher Creek. The Oldman River gets its name from Napi, the Old Man, who is the creator of the earth and all its inhabitants.
