Day 1: Crowsnest Pass, Castle Provincial Park & Pincher Creek
Star Creek Falls Loop
Start your adventure with a short hike on the Star Creek Falls Loop, a recently improved, dog-friendly trail featuring a few switchbacks that lead to spectacular views of the falls below and surrounding peaks. You’ll circle above the falls, cross a small bridge, and return to another scenic viewpoint before looping back to the trailhead.
Distance: just over 2 km | Elevation gain: ~96 m
Tip: Follow the trail markers for the easiest route. AllTrails can be helpful, but it may reroute you onto nearby ATV trails, which are more rugged.

Castle Falls
Next, head into Castle Provincial Park. Stop at Miner’s Mercantile for snacks or picnic supplies before continuing on to Castle Falls. This iconic spot offers a short, scenic walk with stunning cascades surrounded by rugged cliffs. It’s dog-friendly and makes for a great swimming spot in the summer!

Lundbreck Falls
On your way back toward Pincher Creek, stop at Lundbreck Falls—an easily accessible and breathtaking waterfall. Simply park your car and you’ll be greeted by the powerful, photogenic flows. It’s a great spot for dogs on-leash to explore while you enjoy the view.

Evening Stay
Check into the dog-friendly Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Pincher Creek for a cozy night’s rest. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with all the essentials to recharge after a day of exploring. On-site you’ll also find the Seasons Café & Eatery, making it easy to enjoy a hearty meal without leaving the hotel. Whether you’re winding down with dinner, taking your pup for a quick walk, or just relaxing in your room, it’s the perfect place to rest up before tomorrow’s adventure.
Day 2: Waterton Waterfall Highlights
The next morning on your 40-minute drive from Pincher Creek to Waterton, stop at the Bison Paddock just outside the park. While not a waterfall, it’s an unforgettable experience to see bison roaming freely against a mountain backdrop.
Cameron Falls
In Waterton townsite, visit Cameron Falls, an iconic cascade located right in town. The easy, dog-friendly walk makes it a perfect stop before grabbing lunch at a local café.

Other stops: Blakiston Falls & Red Rock Canyon
If you’re still looking for adventure after Cameron Falls, head to Red Rock Canyon. Explore the short loop trail showcasing vibrant red stone formations, then take a quick detour to Blakiston Falls. The views of cascading waters set against lush forest are well worth the stop.
